The White Mountain Independent is reporting that Suncor is planning new homes in subdivisions in Taylor and Snowflake, Arizona.
One development would be one square mile divided into 16 - 40 acre parcels and would include commercial property and an 80 acre community centerpiece.
Ranch Communities of America, a 50/50 venture between SunCor and Bob Worsley, will be building homes from $140,000 - 150,000 on smaller lots.
Suncor is a Phoenix-based company conceives and builds many complex, multi-faceted projects, including residential new home communities, commercial properties, and golf properties.
Bob Sorsley owns NZ Legacy. Mr. Worsley was Chief Executive Officer and President of SkyMall, Inc. Mr. Worsley retired from SkyMall on November 1, 2003.
In September 2006, NZ Legacy began construction of its 24MW biomass plant in Snowflake, Arizona.
NZ Legacy is also planning a new community near Concho, AZ called Stone Axe. A Phoenix Business Journal story had this to say: "A city that could break the rules in urban design is proposed on 95,000 acres in northeast Arizona by the founder and former chief executive of SkyMall Inc. and the designer of DC Ranch."
The NZ Legacy website also reports that it has signed a lease with a Pacificorp (Scottish Power) subsidiary called Pacific Wind Development for over 10,000 acres to be set aside for a 200MW wind farm.
